Berat gila!

Long time no see.

How's everyone doing? As the end of the semester is approaching, we may be busy with assignments and final exam. As for semester sixers like me, we have our practicum and final year project to worry. Mine even includes laboratory works.

Despite all these worries and cares, we should not forget to pray, talk to God and spend time with Him. It's vital to maintain a good relationship with him especially during these crucial weeks. For Jesus said in Matthew 11:28, "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."

Be it physical burdens, spiritual burdens or relationships or just anything... Cast your cares on the lord and he will sustain you; He will never let the righteous fall. ~Psalm 55:22~

On Asking and Receiving

I believe this is a familiar story to many of you...

One day, a flood occurred in the area of a Christian man. The water rose up very swiftly, from the knee, to the waist, to the chest, and to as high as the head. To save himself, he climbed up to the roof and prayed, "Lord Jesus, come help me!"

A sampan came and the rower alerted him to get on the boat. He said, "Oh it's OK, Jesus will save me." The rower left and the water rose higher.

Then, a motorboat came and the boatman told him to get on the boat. He said, "It's ok, don't worry, Jesus will save me." The boatman can't do much, so he left. The water rose even higher to the roof.

A helicopter appeared and the pilot yelled at him to climb up, since the water was about to cover the roof. He said, "I have faith that Jesus will save me!" Then, the helicopter left.

At the end, he was drowned. Upon seeing Jesus, he asked, "O Lord, why didn't you save me?" Jesus replied , "I saved you thrice. Why did you reject?"

“So I say to you: Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. Luke 11:9

We are very used to pray and ask God for things and we have the faith to receive it. But, have you heard of the possible answers from God?
1. Yes, you will have it...
2. Not now, wait patiently.
3. No, but I will give you something better, or the thing you really need.

A couple of years ago, I thought of the fourth answer that God could give... Maybe you'll be surprised, too.
4. I've given you that, haven't you seen it?

Like the story above, we often ask for things unceasingly. But when the prayer is answered, we don't know, or don't believe that it happened just as what we prayed. Take a look at Acts 12:6-19, about Peter's rescue from prison.

In short, beside having the guts to pray like Jabez, we must learn to count our blessings and be thankful, so that we can grow in Christ.

Peace and joy be with you!

免债 On Forgiveness

But if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.  Matthew 6:15

I remember when I was studying SPM Bible Knowledge, my BK teacher talked about this passage in Luke about forgiveness.

She said that God will always forgive. So why this verse? She further justified this verse like this: If you do not forgive others, you won't feel the forgiveness of God, even when God already has forgiven you.

I myself prefer to take the verse as it is. What's your stand? Do comment.

"Forgive our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us"

Have you forgiven someone who had wronged you?
